• Who are we?
  

We are the Phandom Black List, a group of people ( we are really only two people at this point in time ) that really dislike reposters because it is unfair to the original poster, seeing as their work that they put up onto the interwebs for free was stolen.

• What do we do?
  

We track down reposters and ask them to take down reposted works when reports are sent our way. Failing to do so results in their username being on the blacklist alongside the stolen post and original post. The same course of action will also follow through when we spot reposts that have not been sent to us via report.

• Where did this idea come from?
  

We’ve seen more reposts that we can count and it angers us that people steal content and claim it as their own, even when the original creators specifically tell them NOT to repost. The idea of having a Phandom Black List suddenly struck as a brilliant idea and that was how this blog was created.

• Who is running this blog?
  

Alice ( constipatedhowell ) & Audrey ( valdimire ) are the current admins of this blog!~

• How many admins are you looking into taking in?
  

We are not too sure but the number is tentative at 3-4.

• Criteria
  

1. Willing to spend time tracking down blogs and double checking if information sent in is correct.
   
2. Able to be online for at least 4-5 days a week.
   
3. Contactable outside of Tumblr. ( E.g: Skype, Email ect )
   
4. Alright with working alongside me and Alice ( literally a must )
   

• What will you be doing
  

1. Contacting people via ask
   
2. Looking through sent in cases and filling up
   
3. Negotiating with people who may be rather salty about the fact that their repost is wrong.
   
4. Answering questions from the general public
   
5. Posting updates on the blog.
   

• Time zones
  

We are looking for people whose time zones are different from ours ( we are in GMT +8 ) so that we at least have someone active on the blog while the others are asleep/busy but don’t worry if your time zones are similar to ours! Feel free to apply!

• What is a Black List?    
  

In our case, a black list is a list of people in the phandom who have stolen things from other people and claimed it as theirs. This list will exist to warn other users of people who have stolen content and refuse to take it down.

•  Do you have a list of names of people that have stolen things?
  

Yes we do over here. Linked usernames plus the content stolen with links to the original will be left on this blog until the user takes it down.

• What if I find my name on this blog but I haven’t stolen anything?
  

Send us an ask with the link to the post with your username and your case number (if you have several cases please include all their numbers in so that we can find out everything for you).

• I took down stolen content but my name is still there?
  

 Send us an ask our way. We will take your name down as soon as we check that you have taken it down.

• How do I report a user?  
  

Go here to copy and paste the form to report a user before going to our submit to report a user.

• What if the person I reported was actually innocent/taken down the content before we got a look at your report? 
  

Please please send us an ask with the username of the wrongly reported user and their case number (we need this to find out everything else about their case). We do not want to falsely accuse someone of plagiarism.

• How long does it take for the admins to look over my report?
  

It depends on how many reports we get a day but we are estimating it at around 24 hours.

• What happens if my report gets lost?  
  

Send it in again please. 

• How do I know if my report gets lost? 
  

If we do not reply to you within 72 hours, please send in your report again.

• Who runs this blog? 
  

Currently there are only two admins on this blog, Alice and me ( Audrey ) although we are looking into adding more people onto the team!

• What is a report?
  

Basically, a report ( at least on this blog ) is where you inform us of people who repost content onto their blogs without permission from the original poster        ( aka stole the content ). As the admins on Phandom Black List, we then inform both parties of the stolen post and try as much as possible to get the stolen content down without having to officially report anyone ( through tumblr staff ).

• Ok cool, so how do I report someone?
  

Copy and paste this form into our submit box and fill it up. Please look over the information carefully before submitting! Please note that all reports that are sent in via ask will not be looked over!

• When do I know I can report someone?
  

If you see content has been reposted / stolen. Please don’t report to us if you can’t find the original work or if you think that it has been reposted.

• Do I need to fill everything up on the form?
  

With the exception for question 10, you have to fill everything up or your report will be rejected. Note that question 7 & 9 are optional only if they are not related to question 6 & 8 respectively.

• Why do you need my username if it isn’t my post that is stolen?
  

Because we need to keep track of who reports what and we can also inform you if your report has been sent through. Your user name will NOT appear on the public posts of cases or the public spreadsheets. Those are for us to keep track of privately. 

• What happens after I submit my report?
  

After your report has been sent in and approved by the admins ( we will send you an ask informing you if your report has been approved or not ), we the admins will then inform both the creator and the person who reposted of the situation, also requesting the reposter to take down the reposted content. In the meantime while waiting for the response of the creator & the reposter, we will update the spreadsheets with your case. This spreadsheet will be available to the public to view and we will also update the blog with a new post on your case (without your username).

If the creator responds, telling us to drop the case for whatever reason, we will. We will give a timeframe of a week ( if we see that the person who reposted is active on the blog ) for the person who reposted to respond to our ask. If there is no response, their names goes onto the blacklist along with the content that they have stolen.

Here, we would take in reports of cases where reposts, plagarised, or any occurrence that’s somehow linked to posting what’s not yours originally, and we would report them to the tumblr staff.

We also take in accounts of ‘re-post’ blogs, but we would, of course, first try the harmless method of contacting them through an ask/fanmail. But if worse comes to worse, we would have to contact the tumblr staff again.

Also, we can give you ideas on how not to get your work stolen (e.g. making tutorials of adding watermarks/small brands of your urls in your work) and tips you can do when you see a repost on your dash.

Despite the name, we can help other ‘fandoms’ in case the same things happen, although this would most likely be a rare thing.

We can also give you some short ideas on keeping your work original by constantly adding a prompt for artworks and fics; and possibly requests for gifs/edits that could be sent anonymously(or not).

But any other way, this blog is top original; we’re not knocking off phanfic with the idea of prompts, because with their cause, it’s for authors who need to keep their mind in gear. But here, it’s for the obvious reasons of originality. 

(Also I can see how slightly intimidating our name is, but nevertheless, we are just nerds who absolutely despise reposters.)
